Meet Lois
A huge “thank you” to all of my friends, in Atlanta and throughout the world. The biggest thanks and a hug go to my Mom who is my best coach, best editor … and most of all, my best friend.
As many of you know or are discovering, there are many sides of me, beyond the conservative (seeming) gal in her little black dresses, suits and pearls. The focus on my business is marketing and public relations for small businesses — a variety of business I might add. I enjoy business networking and the opportunity to introduce and connect people. My hobbies include writing, art and gardening. And, oh yes, I’m a motorhead. Actually, I’m a petrolhead. A fan of REAL racing: Formula 1. Tip: If you want to make a “world” of friends, tweet and blog about Formula 1. To my fellow Atlantans, you really should wake up in the predawn hours one Sunday and watch it. I’ll bring coffee and bagels. If you want to be considered cute but rather odd, be me, live in the heart of NASCAR country and follow Formula 1.
NASCAR reminds me of rush hour. I see Fords, Chevys and Dodges all day, everyday. When I think about it, a drive on one of the interstates around here is a lot more interesting and exciting, with more overtaking (AKA passing, trading paint, etc.) — and it’s on a road course for heaven’s sake, but I digress. Consider this: One only gets to see a handsome Aussie at the wheel of an RB7 a few times during the year.
Another “thank you” to my friend Kim for inspiring the title of my blog, “Pearls To Petrol”. It fits. I have a passion for life, and for many things in life. My family and friends, my community and my country, the arts, charities and organizations that are near and dear to my heart, and, of course, sports. And I’m a cheerleader for small business. The entrepreneur. The solo-preneur.
It’s a never-ending adventure in my crazy world (and in my crazy head — ha!) between Monday’s coffee and conference calls and Sunday’s buffalo wings and big screens. Hopefully I can give you new insights into the ”Lois” you think you know! Let’s share ideas to grow our businesses and enrich our lives. Encourage each other to work hard and play harder. And, oh yes, we’ll talk football and Formula 1 too!
So, just as Nigel Mansell offered a ride to Ayrton Senna at the British Grand Prix in 1991, I hope you’ll join me. Hop on, hang on and come along. If you do not recall Mansell and Senna in one of F1’s best moments ever, here you go. I can’t think of two better guys nor one better moment to introduce you to Formula 1: Nigel and Ayrton 1991
